Back to GuidesHow to Keep Reezn Playing with the Screen Off
Keep Reezn playing with the screen off: enabling background audio, lock-screen controls, battery trade-offs, and when to use it.

What background play does
Background play keeps audio rolling when you leave the Reezn APK or turn the screen off. Long interviews, podcasts-as-video, music, and lectures become pocket audio without keeping the display lit.
Enabling it
The toggle lives in playback settings under background audio. Once on, pressing home or locking the phone no longer stops playback. A persistent notification gives you pause, skip, and a return-to-app shortcut, and lock-screen controls appear automatically.
The battery math
This is where background play shines: with the screen off, the hungriest component sleeps and only audio decoding runs. An hour of background listening costs a fraction of an hour of video watching. The battery guide has the full breakdown if you want numbers.
When not to use it
Two cases: video you actually watch (obviously), and situations where the notification controls annoy you, like when handing the phone to someone. Toggle it per-session rather than leaving it always on if that bothers you.
Pair it with playlists
Background play plus a queue is the real combo: line up a lecture series or a music set and let it run. The playlist guide shows how to build queues that survive screen-off. Offline travelers should also read the offline mode explainer.
Need the app first? The Reezn APK download page has the current v2.0.20 build.
For talks, lectures, and music, the Reezn APK with the screen off is the most battery-friendly way to listen.
Quick answers
Does background play work for video files?
Yes, it continues the audio track. The video obviously is not visible with the screen off, which is the point for talks and music.
Will it keep playing during a phone call?
No. Calls take audio focus and pause playback, which resumes afterward.
Does it drain battery with the screen off?
Far less than video playback. Audio decoding alone is cheap; the screen is what costs.
