Back to GuidesHow to Update Reezn to v2.0.20 Without Losing Your Library
Update Reezn safely: install the new APK over the old one, keep your library, resume points, and playlists. What v2.0.20 changes.

Before you update
Good news first: updating the Reezn APK preserves everything. Your library index, resume points, playlists, and settings live in the app's data, which an over-install does not touch. Still, if your collection is precious, note which folders you pointed the app at: it takes ten seconds and removes all anxiety.
Step 1: Download the new build
Get v2.0.20 from the Reezn APK download page. Confirm the file is about 34 MB before proceeding; a truncated download is the only common way updates go wrong.
Step 2: Install over the old app
Open the APK and tap Install. Do not uninstall first: uninstalling wipes the app data you want to keep. Android recognizes the newer version of the same package and updates it in place.
Step 3: Verify the update
Open Reezn, check the version in settings, and spot-check a resume point and a playlist. The first launch may rescan briefly as the library index upgrades; let it finish.
What v2.0.20 changes
This is a refinement release: faster playback startup on mid-range phones, fewer missed files in library scans on Android 13+, fixed subtitle drift on long files, and a more forgiving Chromecast handshake. No interface overhaul, no migrated settings to relearn.
If the update fails
"App not installed" during an update means a signature mismatch: the installed copy did not come from the same source. In that case only, uninstall and install fresh (accepting the data loss), then restore your folders. Anything else is covered in the install guide's troubleshooting.
Curious what premium adds on the new build? The offline mode explainer breaks it down honestly.
Updates are deliberately boring with the Reezn APK: install over, verify, and get back to watching.
Quick answers
Will updating delete my downloaded files?
No. Your media files live in your storage, independent of the app. The update only replaces the app itself.
Do I need to uninstall the old version first?
No, and you should not: uninstalling wipes your library index, resume points, and playlists.
How do I check my current version?
Open Reezn, go to settings, and look for the version entry, or check the app info in Android settings.
